Being a family photographer has given me the chance to photograph so many special moments for families throughout the years. One of my favorite things to capture are milestones such as senior photos, newborn photography, or birthdays… especially birthdays because I get the pleasure of seeing families every year to celebrate their kiddo’s special day!
Recently, I had the joy of photographing a delightful 4th birthday session at a picturesque horse farm. Let me tell you, the weather may have been freezing cold but that didn’t stop this little cutie from celebrating with big smiles and a little horsing around!
Adorned in cowgirl boots, a horse print shirt, and a radiant smile, the birthday girl brought infectious excitement to her photo session. It was evident that horses were more than a simple hobby for this little lady and her love shined through in every frame. The backdrop of the sprawling horse farm provided the perfect canvas for this special milestone session. From riding ponies in the arena to getting special attention from the beautiful horses grazing in the field, every moment was filled with pure joy and wonder.
Once we snapped a few pictures out in the cold, the biggest highlight of the session was getting to ride the miniature horse for a few pictures! The sheer delight on the birthday girl’s face as she saddled up and was led around the arena was a sight to behold. It quickly became a birthday worth remembering for years to come.
Throughout this session, and even afterwards looking back on it, there is a sense of gratitude for being able to witness such genuine happiness. It’s moments like these that remind me of why I became a photographer in the first place – to preserve the memories that will be cherished for a lifetime.
